The Aracoma Story Inc. will host their first 5K Run/Walk and a Mountain Bike races this summer.
TAS’s 2014 Mountain Bike Race will be held on Sat., July 12, at Chief Logan State Park. The race will feature a beginner race that is approximately seven miles long and an open division which is approximately 15 miles. The race course is described as moderately technical, with sustained climbs, and about 70 percent of the trails are single track.
Registration for the race will be held at 8 a.m. and the race will begin at 11 a.m. Registration fee for this race is $30 per racer.
The 5K Run/Walk will be held on Sat., July 19, also at Chief Logan State Park and is said to be family/pet-friendly. The event is open to all ages and will feature both a 5K Run/Walk and a 1-mile Family Fun Walk.
Age divisions include 14 and under, ages 15-25, ages 26-35, ages 36-45, ages 46-55 and ages 56 and over. There is also a division for a runner with a pet.
Registration cost for this race is $30 per racer and $10 per racer for ages 14 and under. Registration for the event will begin at 8 a.m and the race will begin at 10 a.m.
Both events will feature prizes for each division’s winners. All participants will receive half-price admission to any performance during The Aracoma Story, Inc.’s 2014 season. The first 50 registered racers for each event will be guaranteed to receive a t-shirt.
