Another Logan area business was broken into this past week.

Thieves entered the Dollar General Store on Stratton Street early Thursday morning, but little was reported stolen.

According to the complaint, Crit Vance Jr., 39, of Henlawson, attempted to enter the story by breaking through the roof with an axe and sledge hammer. Unsuccessful at the first attempt, Vance allegedly entered an adjacent building through the back entrance and then used the sledge hammer to knock a hole in the wall shared by the building and Dollar General.

While inside, Vance is accused of damaging a cigarette case and stealing several packs of cigarettes.

Vance was identified by an eye witness and surveillance video. Charged with two counts of breaking and entering, Vance’s bail was set at $39,000.
