CHAPMANVILLE — The search will be underway to find the 2013 Miss Apple Butter Festival Queen during the 2013 Miss Apple Butter Festival pageant. The pageant, a two day event, is scheduled for September 13-14 at 6 p.m. each day at the Chapmanville Municipal Building.
Contestants can pre-register on Thursday and Friday, August 15-16, at 6 p.m. at the Chapmanville Municipal Building. Photos, no smaller than a 5x7 print, for each contestant must be turned in with the application and entry fee.
Schedule for the pageant will be:
• Thurs., Sept. 13 — contestants for Married Miss (married 18 and up), Miss (16-21 years), Jr. Miss (13-15 years) and petite Miss (8-12 years.) will compete.
• Fri., Sept. 14 — contestants for Little Miss (5-7 years), Little Prince (2-4 years), Little Princess (2-4 years), Wee Mister (06-24 months) and Wee Miss (06-24 months) will compete.
Each category will also have winners for most photogenic, prettiest eyes, prettiest smile, prettiest hair and best fall attire.
The 2013 Miss Apple Butter Festival winner will crown the winners on the 14th and reign over the Apple Butter Festival.
The Apple Butter Festival Beauty pageant is a registered WV Fairs and Festival pageant. The queen will be given a $500 scholarship to their college of choice and the opportunity to compete in the Fairs and Festivals Pageant in Charleston.
