Kenneth Lawson and Margaret Ann Hale were united in marriage 61 years ago in Henlawson at the Freewill Baptist Church on September 14, 1952.
Ken entered the U.S. Army in May 1952, and on his return after serving in France, they moved to St. Petersburg, Fla., in July 1954. There Ken became a journeyman tile setter and, in later years, operated his own contracting business, Ken’s Tile.
They have two daughters, Beverly Ann (her husband, Gape), who live in Tampa, Fla., and Robin Diane of St. Paul, Minn.
Ken and Margaret recently spent time on Beech Mountain, N.C., at her brother, Henry Taylor’s, vacation home. Beach sunsets are a favorite pass time now, also. But, the Hales declare, “West Virginia will always have a special place in our hearts!”
