HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Virginia Finley, 90, of Huntington, passed away Thurs., Sept. 4, 2014, at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House.

Born Dec. 6, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Estill Wilburn and Edna Sloan Wilburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Finley Jr.

Virginia opened the first Federal Black Lung office in the county in Logan. She also worked for the West Virginia State Police and loved to sing and dance.

Those left to cherish her memory include two sons: Patrick Finley of Blackwood, N.J., and Michael Finley of Logan; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a host of other dear family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at noon Mon., Sept. 8, at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the James Funeral Home Chapel.
