Man volleyball improves to 5-1

The Man High School volleyball team upped its record to 5-1 on the season after picking up a couple of wins recently.
Man went to Greater Beckley Christian last week and split, losing 2-1 to the host team and winning 2-1 in a tri-match. Previously, the Lady Billies went to Tug Valley and won 3-2 over the Lady Panthers.
Man was scheduled to have its home opener on Tuesday night against Mingo Central and Wyoming East. The Lady Billies then go to Sherman on Thursday and to Westside on Saturday to take part in the Westside tourney. Man follows that up with a match at Wyoming East on Sept. 24 and a home match against Buffalo on Sept. 26.
* The Logan High School volleyball team dropped four more matches and fell to 0-11 on the season.
Three of those losses came on Saturday at the Mingo Central Tri-Match at the Mingo Central Gym in Newtown.
Logan first lost 25-15, 25-22, 25-21 to Class AAA Lincoln County. The Lady Cats then lost a close match to Class A Tug Valley by the scores of 27-25, 27-25. Logan closed out the night by falling to the 2A host team, the Mingo Central Miners, 25-15, 25-19.
LHS then lost 25-18, 14-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-5 at Lincoln County on Monday night.
The Lady Cats play at the Westside tourney on Saturday at 10 a.m. Logan then hosts Sherman on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before going to Scott on Sept. 26.
The Logan JV team improved to 3-0 with a 25-6, 25-10 win at Lincoln County on Monday night.
