All three Logan County high school football teams are off to a good start to the 2013 gridiron season.


All three have something to show for it as all three teams are ranked.


The WVSSAC released its first Computer Ratings for the season on Tuesday and it shows Logan (3-0) being rated No. 11 in Class AAA, while Chapmanville (2-1) is 10th in Class AA and Man (2-1) is 12th in Single-A.


The top 16 teams in each of West Virginia’s three classifications qualify for the playoffs which are scheduled to begin on Nov. 15. The top eight teams in each class will host a first-round post-season game.


Huntington (3-0) is first in 3A with a 13.33 rating. Cabell Midland (3-0) is in a four-way tie for second place with 13.00 points along with George Washington (3-0), Martinsburg (3-0) and University (3-0).


Jefferson (3-0) is sixth, while Capital (2-0) and Oak Hill (2-0) are tied for seventh. Morgantown (3-0) and Point Pleasant (2-0) are tied for ninth, while Logan is 11th. Wheeling Park (2-0) is 12th, Washington High School (2-1) is 13th and South Charleston (2-1) and Winfield (2-1) are tied for 14th. Hampshire (2-1), Hedgesville (2-1) and Hurricane (2-1) are tied for 16th.


In the first Class AA ratings, Fairmont (3-0) is No. 1 in the state with 10.67 points. Cardinal Conference team Sissonville (3-0), which beat Chapmanville 40-22 in the season opener, is second with 10.00 points. Ravenswood (2-0) is third at 9.50. Summers County (3-0) and Wyoming East (3-0) are tied for fourth. Frankfort (2-0) is sixth, River View (2-0) and two-time defending Class AA state champion and Cardinal Conference team Wayne (2-0) are tied for seventh, with Bridgeport (2-1) ninth.


Chapmanville is in a four-way tie for 10th place with Lincoln (2-1), Ritchie County (2-1) and Robert C. Byrd (2-1). Nicholas County (2-1) is 14th, while Cardinal team Mingo Central (2-1) and Philip Barbour (2-1) are tied for 15th.


In the Class A ratings, Greenbrier West (3-0) is No. 1 with 9.00 points. St. Marys (3-0) is second with 8.67 points. Williamstown (3-0) is third with an 8.33 rating.


East Hardy (2-0), Weirton Madonna (3-0) and Clarksburg Notre Dame (2-0) are tied for fourth. Tucker County (3-0) is seventh, while Meadow Bridge (3-0) and Valley Fayette (2-0) are tied for eighth. Clay-Battelle (3-0) and Wheeling Central (2-1) are tied for 10th. Man is in a three-way tie for 12th with Doddridge County (3-0) and Moorefield (2-1) with a 6.33 rating. Pendleton County (2-1) and Tug Valley (2-1) are tied for 15th in the state.


Although it is extremely early on, if the season ended today Logan would open the 3A playoffs at Jefferson. Chapmanville would open with a first-round game at River View or Wayne. Man would open at East Hardy, Madonna or Notre Dame. The Hillbillies played Madonna in the 2009 Class A state championship, falling to the Blue Dons 27-7 at Wheeling Island Stadium.
