CHAPMANVILLE — It was a successful home tournament for the Chapmanville Regional High School volleyball team as the Lady Tigers advanced to the semifinals.

Chapmanville was eventually ousted by Sissonville in the Final Four round. Wayne downed Sissonville in the championship match.

“We played a lot better this weekend,” Lady Tigers’ coach Johnny Williamson said. “I’m very proud of our team. I had to put the JV team in to make eighth team in the tournament. They did not win a game but competed very well in all of them.”

The tournament honored October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Chapmanville was scheduled to play at Cross Lanes Christian on Monday. CRHS goes to Tolsia on Tuesday night.

The Lady Tigers had lost 25-14, 25-14, 25-8 at Wayne last week.

“Our last two games are the worst we played all season. We have two weeks before the tournaments, so hopefully we can get it turned around,” Williamson said.
