MAN — It has been another successful season for Man High School volleyball coach Orlando Washington and the Lady Billies.

Man finished the regular season 20-17-1 and host the Class A sectional tournament beginning on Tuesday night at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Lady Billies are the No. 2 seed in their five-team section and open on Tuesday at 5 p.m. with a match against No. 3 seed Sherman. No. 4 Montcalm and No. 5 Tug Valley will then play the second match with the winner facing off against No. 1 Greater Beckley Christian.

The Man netters dropped a pair of matches on Wednesday night at Buffalo as the Lady Billies fell to the host Bison, 25-11, 25-19 and then lost to 2A Sissonville, 26-24, 25-23.

Man beat 3A county rival Logan 3-1 last week at home and was fourth in the Buffalo tournament back on Oct. 19.

Coach Washington said his team has performed well this season.

“Mika McCoy continues her consistent play. She’s been consistent all year,” he said. “I feel like Hannah Harvey has played very well also. Hunter Harvey, for a freshman, has really played well all year, too.”
