CHAPMANVILLE — Action resumed last weekend in the Coalfield Youth Soccer League in Chapmanville as several matches were played at the Mullins Soccer Complex.
In the only 17-and-under match of the week the Knights defeated the Wolverines 2-0. Stephen Clemens and Whitney Evans each scored a goal for the Knights.
In the 12-and-under division, the Destroyers shut out the Royal Thunder 15-0. John Justice led the Destroyers with seven goals. Hailey Chewning scored four and Elijah Hawkins, Chloe Moore, Baylie Holton and Ashley Lee scored one goal each.
The Predators defeated the Phoenix 8-2 in another 12-and-under match. Kevin Hanshaw led the Predators with three goals. Peyton Adams had two, while Cayden Mullins, Jayde Kuenzel and Xavier Trump each reached the net once.
In the 9-and-under division, the Minions defeated the Spartans 3-0.Damon Moore led the Minions with two goals and Charity Toth scored one.
In another hard fought match the Fighting Geckos beat the Storm 5-3. Jax Hartle scored three goals and Riley Reed tallied two for the Fighting Geckos. Jesse Justice scored all three goals for the Storm.
The Toxic Shock defeated the Minions 2-0 with Michael Havis scoring for the Toxic Shock and a Minion own goal.
The Blue Lightning defeated the Pumas 8-3 in another match. Madison Hoffman led the Blue Lightning with five goals. Payton Hoffman had two and Jackson Norman scored one.Nick Elliot, Cassandra Carrillo and Brook Hall all had goals for the Pumas.
Action is scheduled to resume after the Easter holiday on April 26.
Matches are played from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mullins Soccer Complex on Sawmill Road at Chapmanville.
