Travis Hurley had an outstanding senior season with the Alderson-Broaddus College baseball team.
Hurley, a 2010 Man High School graduate and a member of the Hillbillies’ 2009 and 2010 back-to-back Class A state runner-up teams, finished the 2014 season with a .331 batting average with three home runs and 43 RBI.
Hurley was 58-for-175 at the plate and started in all 48 games he appeared. He added 11 doubles and one triple and was third on the team in batting average behind Kirby Clemens (.381) and Jeff Conley (.345). Hurley also had two stolen bases.
Hurley led the team in total hits, RBI and home runs.
At the season’s end, Hurley was named second team all-conference as a third baseman.
Alderson-Broaddus finished the season 29-20, falling 3-2 in 10 innings recently to Cedarville in Cincinnati in the G-MAC Tournament.
Hurley was 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the Battlers’ offense in the Cedarville game.
