After spending nearly the entire season as the No. 1-ranked Class A team in the state, the Man High School football has dropped down.

Man is tied for second with Madonna in this week's Computer Ratings, which were released yesterday.

Richwood has vaulted to the top spot with a 9-0 record and 10.11 rating.

Madonna (9-0) and Man (8-1) are knotted at second with an even 10.00 rating.

Clay-Battelle is fourth with a 9-0 record and 9.22 rating. Williamstown (7-2) is fifth, Wheeling Central (6-3) is sixth, Fayetteville (8-2) is seventh, Wirt County (7-2) is eighth and Tucker County (7-2) and Wahama (7-2) are tied for ninth. The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the playoffs which begin Nov. 13 across the state.

Man is hoping to hang on to the No. 1 or No. 2 spot which would guarantee homefield advantage in the first three weeks of the playoffs.

The Billies beat Buffalo, 42-12, on the road on Monday night. Man hosts Matewan in Saturday night's regular season finale.

If the season ended today, Man would host Matewan, Calhoun County or Valley Fayette in the first round of the playoffs.

Wayne (9-0) is first again this week in the Double-A ratings. The Pioneers have a 12.78 rating.

Magnolia (9-0) is second with a 12.22 rating.

Sherman (9-0) is third with an 11.67 rating.

Westside (9-1) is fourth, Frankfort (8-1) and Ravenswood (8-1) are tied for fifth, Bluefield (7-2) is seventh, Keyser (6-3) is eighth, James Monroe (7-2) is ninth and Point Pleasant (6-3) is 10th.
