BRISTOL, Va. — Charles Henry Meeks, 64, of Bristol, Va., passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, in the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn.

Born October 3, 1948, in Logan, he was a son of Bill and Joy McDonald Meeks, and a grandson of the late Henry and Macy Meeks.

Mr. Meeks was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Doneva Meeks; daughters, Mellisa Fralix and Michelle Meeks, both of Okeechobee, Fla.; son, Charles Sammuel Meeks of Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Nathaniel Meeks, Austin Fralix, Luke Bigel, Savon Meeks, Catlyn Meeks and Nicole Fralix; brother, William Meeks; sisters, Deborah Swims and Belinda Crumb; sister-in-law, Karen Stevens; brother-in-law, Russell Lowe, and eight nieces and nephews.

Committal services and inurnment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 11, at Mountain Home National Cemetery at Mountain Home, Tenn., with Chaplain Kevin Holmes officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard.
