Chapmanville’s DesRocher fifth in the league in scoring

CHAPMANVILLE — Chapmanville Regional High School’s Kristin DesRocher has put together a good season so far for the Lady Tigers’ basketball team.

DesRocher, a 5-foot-9 junior guard, is currently fifth in the Cardinal Conference in scoring at 14.6 points a game.

Tolsia’s Krista Maynard leads the league with a 17.5 points per contest scoring clip.

Sissonville’s Madison Jones and Karli Pinkerton are second and third respectively at 17.3 and 16.2 points per game. Tolsia’s Savannah Winnett is fourth in the Cardinal Conference as she averages 14.8 points a contest.

Scott’s Jaimee Dotson (14.0) is sixth, Mingo Central’s Ashley Curry (13.2) seventh, Poca’s Madi McGrew (11.2) eighth and Poca’s Paula Ord (10.6) ninth.

Tolsia’s girls began the week first in the Cardinal Conference standings at 9-3 overall and 7-0 in the league. Sissonville is second (11-3, 6-1), Scott (8-6, 7-2) third, Chapmanville (7-7, 5-5) fourth and Poca (4-10, 3-5) fifth.

Herbert Hoover is sixth (8-5, 2-4), Mingo Central (4-7, 2-6) seventh and Wayne (1-13, 0-9) last.
