A man who escaped from the Logan State Police Headquarters on Old Logan Road Monday has been caught.

37-year old David Jeffrey had been arrested on drug violations and a parole violation for a sex offense in the state of Virginia.

Police began searching in the area around the detachment on Monday night, including the Mill Creek and Lake areas. Jeffrey was reportedly captured around 2 p.m. Tuesday in Justice Addition.

West Virginia State Troopers from other detachments came to assist in the search for Jeffrey. The WVSP said a review of the circumstances of surrounding Jeffrey’s escape will be done and they will take measures to insure it can’t happen again.

Were there any witnesses to David's arrest after the escape? He put his hands in the air, was cuffed and placed in the back of the police car. How is it that he is now in ICU on a vent fighting for his life? The state police claim he resisted arrest but he did not. David is a victim of police brutality. The West Va State Police were mortified they let a prisioner escape and the beating they gave David was their form of punishment. Police brutality is an ongoing problem in this country with countless victims.
