LOGAN – The regular meeting of the Logan County Commission was brief, but did approve $500 for the June Harless Children’s Home, which is affiliated with the Children’s Home Society of West Virginia.

The home provides short-term and emergency care for youth in crisis by meeting the child’s emergent need for residential care in a safe, supportive setting.

Andi Bennett, Supervisor of The June Montgomery Harless Children’s Home, says they have an average of ten children in their care.

“These children may not have any family or other support system, so what we are able to get for them for Christmas will be all they receive,” said Bennett.

In other business, the commission approved two projects that were part of the community grant program.

The next meeting will be held on Jan. 7 at 3 p.m. The meeting will be an organizational meeting for 2013
