Logan County Schools has announced that in compliance with West Virginia State Law, the Logan County Board of Education will provide upon the request of parents or guardians living in Logan County, developmental screening for their child under school age.

All children birth to five are eligible to receive one screening per year.

This developmental screening is the process of measuring the developmental progress of children to determine if there are potential problems, delays, or advanced abilities in the areas of communication, expressive and receptive language, perception through sight and hearing, fine and gross motor development, eye-hand coordination, health, psycho-social or physical development, cognition, and self-help skills.

Screenings will be individually administered by qualified personnel and will be designed to meet individual needs. Results of the screening will be shared with the parent and it will be determined whether or not a referral should be made for further evaluation and/or referral to another agency.
