MacNamara scores hat trick, then five goals to lead Bulldogs

CHAPMANVILLE — The Coalfield Youth Soccer League has battled rainy weather in recent weeks but the action is still strong in the fall season.

Back on Oct. 6, four matches were played at Chapmanville’s Mullins Athletic Complex.

In the 12-and-under division, the Bulldogs were a 7-2 winner over the Red Dragons behind Walter MacNamara’s three-goal hat trick. Aidan Napier and Steven Clemens hit the net for two goals each. Ryan Belcher and Hailey Chewning tallied one goal each for the Red Dragons.

The Scorpions were a 3-0 victor over the Sharks. Reese Ellis scored two goals to lead the winners. Dominique Jackson booted in the other goal.

In the 9-and-under division, it was the Warriors over the Broncos 5-1. Alanna Tomblin tallied three goals to lead the Warriors. Aloyssa Chambers and Isaac Setser had one goal each. Sydney Belcher scored the only goal for the Broncos.

The Golden Eagles were also a 6-0 winner over the Sharks. Jayde Kuenzel and Peyton Adams knocked in two goals each for the Golden Eagles. Austin Mills and D.G. had one goal apiece.

There were no 16-and-under matches played.

* On Oct. 13, league matches resumed.

In the 16-and-under division, the Ninjas beat the Legends 1 to nill with a goal from Gage Skeens.

The Bulldogs downed the Sharks 6-1 in a 12-and-under match as Walter MacNamara scored five goals. Aidan Napier had the other goal. Alexis Adkins scored the only goal for the Sharks.

In other action, the Red Dragons nipped the Scorpions 2-1. Ryan Belcher scored both goals for the winners. Reese Ellis reached the net for the Scorpions.

In the 9-and-under division, the Warriors blanked the Sharks 2 to nill with goals from Tori Wilburn and Alanna Tomblin.

The Golden Eagles were a 7 to nill winner over the Broncos. Jayde Kuenzel tallied four goals for the Golden Eagles, while Peyton Adams had two and Abigail Polisano one.

They got the artical wrong!! It is saying that Ryan Belcher scored both goals for the Red Dragons but he didn't Kaylee Bowe scored 1 of the goals.
