Officials at the Logan County Health Department is assuring people that more shipments of the swine flu vaccine is arriving weekly and there will be enough — eventually — for everyone who wants vaccinated.

Donna Adkins with the Logan County Health Department said Thursday morning that there will be swine flu vaccinations available tomorrow at Man Middle School from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; on Nov. 9 at Chapmanville Regional High School from 3-7 p.m. and on Nov. 16 at Logan Middle School from 3-7 p.m.

Those vaccinations will be available to pregnant and postpartum women, caregivers of infants 6 months of age and persons 6 months of age through 24-years-old.

“That includes all school- and college-age kids,” Adkins said. “You don’t have to have an underlying health condition (to get the vaccine).”

Adkins said there will be between 500-600 vaccinations available at each school.

Adkins said that despite news reports stating that there is a shortage of swine the health department is continuing to get shipments each week.

“If our shipments continue the way they are, there should be (enough for everyone in Logan County who wants a vaccination),” Adkins said. “Now, not everybody is going to be vaccinated this month. I know what they’re saying on TV, but, so far, we are still receiving weekly shipments. They’re not huge shipments, but they are sending us shipments at this point.”
