Logan High School sophomore cheerleader Emelia Copley cheers on the Logan Lady Cats’ basketball team last week at Willie Akers Arena. Girls’ sectionals begin this week for Logan County’s three teams. Logan (13-8) is scheduled to open Class AAA sectional play on Wednesday against Huntington at Huntington High School in an 8 p.m. game. In Class AA, Chapmanville Regional (11-11) is set to face off with rival Scott on Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Logan. Class A Man (13-8) is slated to host a second-round sectional game on Tuesday night at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse against either Sherman or Van. Tip time is 7 p.m. The boys’ sectional tourneys are to be played next week.
