HUNTINGTON — The History Channel and Think Factory Media will present a “Hatfields & McCoys” Special Premier at the Keith-Albee Theatre this Thursday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m., and several local individuals will be participating.

According to event planners, attendees to the semi-formal affair will be given a sneak peak of the “Hatfields & McCoys” History Channel miniseries, along with the two-hour documentary, entitled, “America’s Greatest Feud: The Hatfields and McCoys.”

Cast members from the mini-series and documentary will attend, along with filmmakers, historians, and feudist descendants that helped bring the epic and documentary to life.

Besides people from the History Channel and Think Factory Media, representatives of the WV Film Commission and Trifecta Productions will also be at the function. Local individuals who have been invited to attend the event include Bill Richardson, Raamie and Lillian Barker, and Keith and Cheryl Davis. Bill, Raamie and Keith, along with others, were interviewed for the documentary in February.

The six-hour miniseries, “Hatfields & McCoys” will debut nationwide on Monday, May 28, Tuesday, May 29, and Wednesday, May 30 at 9 p.m. nightly. The film stars Kevin Costner, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Mare Winningham and others.

The other feud-related program, “America’s Greatest Feud: The Hatfields and McCoys,” is a two-hour documentary that investigates the family feud story. It airs on the History Channel on Saturday, June 2, at 4 p.m. The film is directed by Emmy-nominated producer and director Mark Cowen (“Band of Brothers””) and stars several regional individuals including Raamie Barker, Keith Davis and Bill Richardson—as well as feud-era reenactors from across the state. This documentary kicks off a complete marathon of Hatfield-McCoy related programming that day. The miniseries with Kevin Costner will repeat and run in its entirety starting at 6 p.m., following the documentary.
