Topping is 2013 Valedictorian at BHCS

CHAUNCEY — Megan Paige Topping will lead the Beth Haven Christian School class of 2013 as Valedictorian during a graduation ceremony to be held today at 6:30 p.m. in the school gymnasium

Topping has served her student body as president this year as well as president of the American Association of Christian School Honor Society. She has been very active in sports, leading her volleyball and basketball teams as captain. She received WVCEA all state recognition in both sports and earned the conference title Most Valuable Player in the WVCEA volleyball state 2012 championship. Topping is a member of 5&6 Freewill Baptist Church of Holden where she participates in Mime Team and adult choir.

Topping is the daughter of Scott and Paige Browning of Lyburn where she resides with siblings Daniel, Caleb and Charity. She is also the daughter Jeff Topping of Huntington. She is the granddaughter of Larry and Peggy Light of Chapmanville, Gary and Juanita Topping of Huntington, and Earl and Sue Browning of Lyburn. She is the great-granddaughter of Shelton Topping.

Topping has been awarded a Southern Scholarship where she will attend in the fall to pursue a career as a nurse anesthetist.

Guest speaker for the ceremony will be Robert Morris, pastor of West Logan Missionary Baptist Church and a former teacher of Beth Haven Christian School.
