Locals entertain at Chamber dinner

The Logan County Chamber of Commerce hosted its 82nd annual membership dinner Tuesday evening at the Chief Logan Lodge and Convention Center. Entertainers for the event included the Appalachian Children’s Chorus (pictured), singer and musician Roger Bryant, singer and author Cora Lee Hairston who read an excerpt from her book “Faces behind the Dust,” singers Krista Brown-Trogdon and American’s Got Talent winner Landau Eugene Murphy Jr. Guest speaker was Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin.

The community has lost such a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, husband and friend. He was always good to me when I would come to visit or even if he seen me out he would not hesitate to speak to me. I will miss him a lot. Darlene, Jim and Jackie, I love you guys and I am so sorry that you all are going through this. He was such a good man. There were things that I didn't know about him but would love to hear. Nobody can take away all the years of memories that you have. I know how heartbroken you all are. It just takes time to be able to deal with this loss. You will always have him in your heart and he will never leave you. He was a devoted father, husband and grandfather. Love each other and give all your support to each other because even though he was your dad, your children are also hurting. May God wrap his arms around Bill and lead him to heaven, and may he take you all under his wing and comfort each of you. Much love, Becky
