CRHS soccer players named All-Southern

Several members of the Chapmanville Regional High School soccer team were named to the All-Southern Boys and Girls Teams this week.

Chapmanville fielded a co-ed team this fall and competed in soccer for the first time in school history.

The Tigers finished the season 7-11-2, falling 3-0 to Huntington St. Joe in the first round of the Class AA/A sectional tournament.

Named to the All-Southern First Team boys’ squad were Chapmanville’s Zach Lamb and Austin Hanshaw.

Mingo Central’s Hunter Lester, Mikey Evans and Chaz Farley were also on the first team, along with Tug Valley’s Alex Carter.

On the Second Team were the Tigers’ Dylan Brown, Christian Stafford, Joe Toth and Dylan Renniger.

Mingo Central’s Josh Wellman, Garrett Cook and Kyle Woods were also on the second team, along with Tug Valley’s Kyle Deskins.

Chapmanville’s James Ellis, Tyler Carter, Ben Chapman and Ryan Belcher were named honorable mention All-Southern.

Mingo Central’s Ethan Mendoza, Jace Dotson, Gavin Farley and William Collins and Tug Valley’s Greg Cantrell were also voted honorable mention by the coaches.

On the girls’ side, Chapmanville’s Amber Stokes and Catherine Carter were on the First Team as well as Bianca Vance and Katie Ball of Mingo Central and Haley Hatfield of TVHS.

Chapmanville’s Savanah Toney and Kayla Baldwin were on the Second Team as well as Mingo Central’s Ricki Wellman, Serenity Graham and Kalley Mounts and Tug Valley’s Makayla Mcmillon.

Honorable Mention picks were: Patricia Haddox, Kaylee Bowe and Haylee Chewning of Chapmanville; Alison Woolum, Jamie More and Kenna Crum of Mingo Central; and Caitlyn Sartin, Makayla McMillin and Kaitlyn Sartin of Tug Valley.
