CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — The Chapmanville Middle School girls’ basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a pair of wins over Man and Duval.
The Lady Tigers traveled to Man last Thursday and came away with a 56-8 win.
CMS was led by Hollee Blair with 21 points, followed by Jayde Kuenzel with eight, Abbie Myers with five and Claire Dingess, Emma Bush and Mikayla Tomblin with four each. Baylee Belcher and Chelsey Fields tossed in three points each and Kaitlyn Moore, Grace Browning chipped in with two each.
Kristen Ellis led Man Middle School with three points.
CMS then traveled to Duval Monday night and brought home a 49-21 win over the Yellowjackets.
Myers led the way with 13 points followed by Blair with 11 and Fields with nine. Dingess and Jayde Kuenzel had six points each. Baylee Belcher chipped in with four points.
“We played two nice games in a row. We shot the ball pretty good both games,” CMS coach Tommy Kirk said. “Our defense has been keying our offense leading to several fast breaks chances. At the present time I am pleased with our progress.”
