The Man High School swimming team continues to make strides in the pool heading into this weekend’s Region IV meet.
The Aqua Billies competed in the 2017 Tri-County Last Chance Invitational held on January 28 at the Toyota Aquatic Center in Scott Depot and had several top finishes.
Man freshman Dana Goodman took first place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:28.80 and was also first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:04.70. Goodman earned enough points to place third in the girls’ team rankings.
Richie Caserta, a Man sophomore, placed third in the 100-yard freestyle with a new personal best time of 1:01.69. He was also fourth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.38.
Nijule Sharp, a Man freshman, placed third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:20.44.
Man’s Chase Harvey, a junior, placed fourth in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:29.85 and took fifth in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 7:13.78.
The Aqua Billies are excited to compete in their first ever regional meet, which is set for Saturday, Feb. 4 at 3:45 p.m. at Marshall University.
