Logan golf off to 3-1 start

The Logan High School golf team’s 2015 season is in full swing.

The Wildcats have played four matches so far and have won three.

Logan, coached by Cliff Motes, lost 145-208 on Aug. 13 to George Washington. To date, it’s been the only setback this season for the LHS golfers.

Tommy Adkins led Logan in the GW match as he shot a 45. Kaleb Thompson had a 48, Jarrett Adkins a 57, Alexis Perry a 58 and Lexi Jo Canterbury a 61.

Logan then reeled off three victories in a row, defeating Sherman, South Charleston and Nitro.

In the match against Sherman, the Wildcats beat the Tide by 30 strokes as Logan scored an 82 and Sherman a 112.

Tommy and Jarrett Adkins paced Logan as each fired a 42 for the match. Thompson had a 49 and Chase Ooten a 58.

Logan toppled South Charleston by 34 shots. LHS had a 202 while the Black Eagles fired a 236.

Tommy Adkins had a 44 to lead Logan. Perry had a 51 and Thompson a 52. Jarrett Adkins finished with a 55 and Canterbury had a 69.

Logan then easily beat Nitro by 32 strokes as LHS had a 179 and Nitro a 211.

Tommy Adkins led Logan with a 41. Perry had a 43, Jarrett Adkins a 47, Thompson a 48 and Canterbury a 49.
