The Logan Middle School football team improved to 2-0 on the season with Thursday night’s 34-26 win at home over Ripley at the Logan Football Stadium.
Several LMS players had big games.
Logan Middle quarterback David Early carried the ball 13 times for 214 yards with one touchdown and two two-point conversions. He was also 4-for-8 passing for 148 yards and three TDs.
Troy Cowart had seven rushes for 103 yards and one touchdown.
Tanner Lambert caught a 32-yard TD pass for Logan. Sidney Chapman had two touchdown catches, including one that went for 36 yards. Damion Dehart reeled in a 72-yard TD pass.
Hunter Mileto had five carries for 22 yards for the Timberwolves. Lambert carried the ball four times for 58 yards. Branson Gore had two rushes for 14 yards. Chapman had one carry for five yards.
On defense, Cowart led Logan with 14 tackles.
Mileto had seven stops, while Chapman had one tackle and one interception.
James Smith, Conner McGrew, Dehart and Dylan Adkins each made two tackles. Lambert, Early, Gore, Kaleb Williamson and Hunter Meade all had one tackle.
LMS is back in action this coming Thursday night at Winfield. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
POCA — The Chapmanville Middle School football team fell to 1-1 on the season with Thursday night’s 21-6 loss at Poca.
Josh Bumgarner had the Tigers’ only touchdown of the night on an 8-yard run.
No further game statistics were made available.
CMS hosts county rival Man this Thursday at 7 p.m. at Chapmanville’s Tiger Stadium.
