The Man High School volleyball team won another match last Tuesday with a 3-0 win at Sherman.
The Lady Billies, coached by Orlando Washington, then lost a pair of matches last Thursday at Greater Beckley Christian, falling 2-1 to the host team and also losing 2-0 to Fayetteville.
Man (3-2) had opened the season on Sept. 2 with wins over Logan and Chapmanville Regional to take the Logan County tri-match title.
The Lady Billies were scheduled to play at Wyoming East on Tuesday and then at Westside on Thursday. Man then plays at tri-match on Sept. 22 at Scott against the host Lady Hawks and Mingo Central.
The home opener is set for Sept. 24 at home against Chapmanville.
* The Logan High School volleyball team stands at 1-3 on the season with Tuesday’s 3-0 loss at Wyoming East and Thursday’s 3-0 home win over Lincoln County.
The Lady Cats were set to play at the Westside tourney on Saturday.
Logan had a tri-match on Tuesday at Scott. The next home match is Thursday against Sherman.
* The Chapmanville Regional High School volleyball team is off to a 5-1 start to the season.
The Lady Tigers were slated to host Wyoming East on Monday night.
“My team gets better ever game,” CRHS coach Johnny Williamson said. “Last Thursday we beat Mingo Central at Central. That’s the first time I have beat them. I have two young setters in Carley Cook and Katharine Muncy and they just need experience. My seniors will do their part (Savannah Wiley, Addy Lucas and Shiane Meeks). Abby Marcum is just an athlete.
On Tuesday, Logan played at Scott with Logan in a tri-match. Thursday, the Lady Tigers play at Herbert Hoover with Clay County in another tri-match.
