NAUGATUCK – This Friday night the unbeaten Tug Valley High School football team will travel to Glenhayes to take on the unbeaten Tolsia Rebels.

The Panthers (4-0), ranked No. 5 in the state this week in Class A, have been churning out touchdowns at full speed this season.

Tug Valley has plenty of offensive weapons and a stout defense to keep the scales tilted in their favor however, the Rebels (4-0), ranked No. 5 in Class AA, have been eating teams alive so far this season.

The Panthers have been able to score through the air and on the ground with little resistance.

Tyler Conley throws the passes, Jeremy Dillon and Calvin Blankenship catch the passes, and Phillip Lucas runs the ball in short yardage situations and provides plenty of pass protections for his quarterback. Corbin Oliver is the speed back. The line holds strong and the play calling keeps defenses guessing.

Tolsia, on the other hand, will smash you right in the mouth and show no remorse at all.

The Presley brothers seem to always be in the right place at the right time. Luke Presley leads the Rebels running game. Logan Presley creates a wide range of mayhem from the free safety position. Seth McMillion controls the offense from the quarterback seat and Jennings Holland picks up any slack left-over.

Tug Valley coach Tony Clusky and his high powered offense will need to keep up the scoring against Tolsia.

So far this season Oliver and Lucas lead the team in rushing yards. Oliver has rushed 27 times for 337 yards and three touchdowns.

Lucas has rushed 32 times for 227 yards and three touchdowns.

Dillon has added four rushing touchdowns this year.

Blankenship has hauled in eight receptions for 311 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

Dillon has seven receptions for 107 yards and scored four receiving touchdowns.

Ike Starr leads the Panthers’ defense with 27 total tackles for the year. Noah Lucas and Conley follow close behind with 23 tackles each for the season.
