MAN — Jace Duba ran wild last week in Fayetteville.
The 5-foot-10, 197-pound senior running back rolled up 302 yards rushing on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns in the Man High School football team’s 26-6 win at Fayetteville last week.
The Hillbillies, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class A, are now 5-0 on the season ahead of this week’s bye week.
For Duba’s efforts, he has been named as this week’s Logan Banner Athlete of the Week.
Man racked up 377 yards on the ground on Fayetteville while the Billies’ defense held the Pirates to just 40 yards rushing on the night.
The Billies dominated the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball with 513 yards of total offense to the Pirates’ 109. The Billies had 24 first downs to the Pirates’ four.
Man’s next game is the Oct. 9 showdown at home against county rival and unbeaten Chapmanville (5-0) in the annual MHS homecoming game.
The Tigers host Mount View this week in their homecoming game and could go into the clash with the Billies with a 6-0 record, setting up a showdown with Man.
