CHAPMANVILLE — The Chapmanville Regional High School football team ran its record to 6-0 on the season and set up a showdown of the unbeatens with county rival Man next week after routing Mount View 39-6 on Friday night at Chapmanville’s Tiger Stadium in the annual CRHS homecoming game.
The Tigers, ranked No. 4 in the state this week in Class AA, had no problem with Mount View (1-4) in a flag-filled game on a rainy night in Chapmanville.
Tanner Dillon scored three touchdowns for Chapmanville with runs of 1, 3 and 5.

After Dillon’s first TD on a 1-yard run at the 4:58 mark of the first quarter, Chapmanville quarterback Alex Berry hooked up with Dylan Smith on a 39-yard touchdown pass down the sideline to put CRHS ahead 14-0 with 9:42 to go until halftime. The extra point kick was good by Dillon.

The Tigers then made it 21-0 with 3:28 to go as Jordan Whitt picked off a Mount View pass and dashed in for a 31-yard touchdown. Dillon’s PAT was again good.
Then with 5:48 left in the third quarter, Dillon scored on a 5-yard TD run as the Tigers increased their lead to 27-0. Dillon’s extra point kick sailed wide right.
In the fourth quarter, Dillon had a 3-yard TD run to make it 33-0. The two-point conversion failed.
With 1:20 left in the game, the Tigers gave Mount View a going away present with freshman Brennan Williams’ 6-yard touchdown run as Chapmanville led 39-0.
Mount View then avoided the shutout with a 11-yard touchdown pass with only 2.5 seconds left in the game, scored against Chapmanville’s reserves and JV players.
Chapmanville travels to rival Man (5-0) next Friday night. Since both teams have already defeated Logan this season, the county championship will also be on the line.
The Hillbillies, ranked No. 1 in the state in Class A for three straight weeks, were idle on Friday night.
Savannah Wiley was crowned at halftime as Miss Chapmanville Regional High School. Dillon was Mr. Chapmanville Regional High School.
