CYSL roundup: Haze tops Wild Billies in U17 match

CHAPMANVILLE — It was a full week of action last week in the Coalfield Youth Soccer League as matches were played on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at Chapmanville and Logan.

On Tuesday in a 12-and-under match, the White Lightning were an 8-4 winner over Infinity. Jamari Turner tallied three goals for the White Lightning, while Beanie Page and Payton Hoffman had two each. Madison Mullins also netted a goal. For Infinity, Jesse Blankenship scored three goals and Garrett Ryan had one.

In a 9-and-under match, the M.O.D. won seven to nil over the Grape Apes. McCormick Ilderton had five goals for the winners. Halle Crouse and Madison Haugen had one each.

The Chaos were an 8-5 winner over the Blue Devils in another U9 match on Tuesday. Kendan Trent had five goals for the Chaos. Austin Bishop, Brayden Bishop and Westin Adkins had one each. For the Blue Devils, Brayden Likens netted all five goals.

On Thursday in the U12 division, the Ball Hawgs won 8-5 over the Vikings. Peyton Thompson netted five goals to lead the Ball Hawgs. Bryson Adkins, Maddie Mullins and Cassandra Carrillo all had one goal. Allie Burton had two goals for the Vikings. Bralen Adams, Kendra Ooten and Brooklyn White tallied one goal each.

In a 9-and-under match on Thursday, the Orange Crush were a 7-2 victor over the Mean Machine. Sully Ooten scored six big goals for the Crush, while Carmen Mahon had one. Mason Skidmore and Kagan Layne had one each for the Machine.

The Aztec Warriors defeated the Coal Diggers 12 to nil in another U9 match on Thursday as Michael Ojeda reached the net six times. Kaleb Burford had a hat trick and Raelynn Mendez, Sebastian Carrillo and Blake Bryant had one goal each.

On Saturday in a 17-and-under match played at Logan Stadium on the Field Turf, the Haze were a 4-2 winner over the Wild Billies. Walker Jeffery had both goals for the Wild Billies. Amber Stokes had two goals for the Haze and Savannah Toney and Cameron Adkins had one each.

In a 12-and-under match, the Ball Hawgs routed Infinity 12-2. Peyton Thompson tallied five goals for Infinity. Cassandra Carrillo had a hat trick and Maddie Mullins tallied two goals. Aden Runyon and Emily Runyon had one each. Jesse Blankenship and Matthew Smith netted one goal each for Infinity.

The White Lightning easily defeated the Vikings, 9-1, on Saturday. For the White Lightning, Beanie Page and Jamari Turner had three goals each while Payton Hoffman had two and Madison Mullins one. Brooklyn White had the only goal for the Vikings.

The Coal Diggers won 6-5 over the Blue Devils on Saturday in a U9 match. Tyler Oney had three goals for the Diggers, while Garrett Dean had two and Damon Moore one. Tanner Clay had three goals and Parker Burns two for the Devils.

The Aztec Warriors beat the Chaos 5-4 in a game which went to overtime penalty kicks. Michael Ojeda led the winners with three goals. Kaleb Burford and Raelynn Mendez had one each on penalty kicks. Kendan Trent tallied a hat trick and added a penalty kick.

The Mean Machine won 3-1 over the Grape Apes on Saturday. Hunter Baker had two goals and Aiden Baker one for the Machine. Jacob Deer netted the only goal for the Grape Apes.

The M.O.D. won 9-7 over the Orange Crush behind the seven-goal effort of McCormick Ilderton. Addyson Amick also had a goal. Sully Ooten and Gavin Noe had three goals each for the Crush. Darian Woods had one goal.
