SETH — The Class A No. 4-ranked Man High School football team bounced back from last week’s heartbreaking loss to Chapmanville and got back on the winning track Friday night with a convincing 48-6 ripping of the Sherman Tide on the road.
Man senior All-State candidate and quarterback John Thomas Keffer went over 4,000 yards passing in his career at Man High School Friday night by passing for 154 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Billies to victory.
The Man rushing attack was no too shabby either as they racked up 250 yards on the ground as well led by Jake Frye with 90 yards on just nine carries and one touchdown. Jace Duba rushed for 86 yards on 18 attemps and two touchdowns, while Dustin McCoy added 57 yard on eight carries and one score for the Billies, which went to 6-1 on the season.
Man got its first points of the game at the 2:06 mark of the first period of play on a 5-yard TD run by Duba to give the Billies the early 6-0 advantage.
That would be the only score in the first quarter.
Man got cranked up in the second staza, scoring 28 unanswered points on the scoreboard to take a 34-0 lead going into the locker room and never looked back.

Duba then bulled in from 6 yard out to pay dirt as Man took a 12-0 lead with 10:12 to play in the second quarter.
The Billies pushed their lead to 18-0 as Keffer hooked up with his favorite target Ross Osborne for a 52-yard TD at the 5:51 mark. Keffer then found Osborne for an 11-yard touchdown pass. Osborne then passed to Keffer for the conversion to give MHS a 26-0 lead.
The Billies would score their fourth touchdown of the quarter just before the half with only 11 ticks on the clock as Keffer tossed his third TD pass of the period — this one going to Matt Sanders from 41 yards out. Dustin McCoy ran in the two-point conversion to give the Billies a 34-0 lead at the half.
McCoy had the only points on the scoreboard in the third stanza on a 5-yard jaunt and Frye added the conversion to give Man a 42-0 lead with 8:15 to go.
Sherman (1-7) tallied their only touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter as Adam Miller caught a Kirk Bailey pass for a 71-yard touchdown.
Man added another score with Frye’s 37-yard TD run with 6:53 left in the game.
