Following a pair of losses last week, both the Chapmanville and Man high school football teams tumbled in this week’s Gazette-Mail Poll.

Chapmanville (7-2), which lost a 76-45 shootout at No. 2 Tolsia last week, dropped to 10th in this week’s Class AA media poll from eighth last week. Tolsia (8-0) stayed at No. 2.

The Tigers play at Wayne (4-4) this Friday night in the regular season finale.

Man (6-2), which was soundly beaten last week at home in a 40-14 loss to Pocahontas County, dropped out of the top 10. The Hillbillies sit at 11th and play at No. 12 Tug Valley this Friday night.

Mingo Central (7-1) is ranked No. 5 this week in Class AA, falling one spot after a blowout win on the road at winless Poca.

Cabell Midland (8-0) was again the unanimous No. 1 team in this week’s Class AAA poll. The Knights received all 10 first-place votes from the statewide panel of sportswriters.

Bridgeport (7-0-1), the defending Class AA state champs, were again the unanimous No. 1 team in Double-A.

Unbeaten Magnolia (9-0) was the unanimous No. 1 again this week in Class A.
