CHAPMANVILLE — There were several matches played last week in the Coalfield Youth Soccer league at Chapmanville as the fall season went into the stretch drive.
In the featured match at Chapmanville’s Tiger Stadium, the Wild Billies were a 2-1 winner over the Haze in a 17-and-under game. Joey Vinson and Walker Jeffery each scored a goal for the Wild Billies. Austin Hanshaw reached the net for the Haze.
In a 9-and-under match, the Chaos overwhelmed the Mean Machine with a 14-2 behind the eight-goal effort of Kendan Trent. Westin Adkins had five goals and Austin Bishop one. Mason Skidmore and Max Hatfield had one goal each for the Machine.
The Blue Devils were an 18-13 winner over the Orange Crush in a high-scoring affair. Brayden Likens scored 15 goals for the winners,. Parker Burns, Tanner Clay and Izabella Kirk had one each. Sully Ooten tallied all 13 goals for the Crush in a losing cause.
In another U9 match, the Aztec Warriors routed the Grape Apes, 8-1. Kalen Burford scored a hat trick for the Warriors. Landon Bourne had two and Raelyn Mendez, Blake Bryant and Michael Ojeda all had one each. James Thompson scored the lone goal for the Grape Apes.
The M.O.D. were a 9-3 winner over the Coal Diggers behind the four-goal performance from McCormick Ilderton. Jaida Adkins had two goals and Halle Crouse, Chase Watts and Carter Neal all had one each. Tyler Oney, Damon Moore and Leland each scored for the Coal Diggers.
In a 12-and-under match, the White Lightning won 13-3 over Infinity. Jamari Turner led the White Lightning with four goals. Payton Hoffman had three, Beanie Page and Madison Mullins had two each and Maddy Hoffman and Jaylen Gillman tallied one apiece. Jesse Blankenship scored a trio of goals for Infinity.
The Ball Hawgs were a 9-4 winner over the Vikings in another U12 matchup. Cassandra Carrillo had three goals for the Ball Hawgs. Peyton Thompson had two and Maddie Mullins, Emily Runyon and Bryson Adkins all had one each. Allie Burton scored twice for the Vikings. Bralen Adams and Bryson Smith netted one goal apiece.
