CHAPMANVILLE — The Chaos and the White Lightning won championships a couple of weeks ago as the Coalfield Youth Soccer League closed out its fall season in Chapmanville.
The Chaos were an 8-3 winner over the Blue Devils in the 9-and-under championship game as Kendan Trent scored four goals. Westin Adkins had two and Austin Bishop had one goal. An own goal was also counted. Brayden Likens scored all three goals for the Blue Devils.
In the 12-and-under championship match, the White Lightning won 8-2 over the Ball Hawgs. Jamari Turner had three goals for the Lightning, while Payton Huffman and Beanie Page had two each and Madison Mullins had one goal. Peyton Thompson tallied both goals for the Ball Hawgs.
The Vikings won 10-6 over Infinity to win the U12 third-place match. Bryson Smith reached the net eight times for the winners. Dylan Watkins and Diesel Bryant and one goal each. Jesse Blankenship scored all six goals for Infinity.
In the U9 third-place match, the M.O.D. were a 7-3 winner over the Aztec Warriors. Addyson Amick led the M.O.D. with three goals, while McCormick Ilderton had two and Carter Neal and Chloe Murphy both had one each. Michael Ojeda had two goals for the Aztec Warriors and Dylan Bryant had one.
In the first round of the U9 playoffs, the Blue Devils prevailed 8-4 over the Aztec Warriors. Brayden Likens had seven goals for the Devils. Tanner Clay had the other goal. Michael Ojeda scored four goals and Kaleb Burford two for the Warriors.
The Chaos beat the M.O.D. 7-5 in a U9 playoff match as Westin Adkins and Kendan Trent tallied three goals each and Austin Bishop had the other. Halle Crouse and McCormick Ilderton both scored two goals for the M.O.D.
In other matches played, the Haze and the Wild Billies played to a 3-3 draw in a 17-and-under game. Dylan Brown, Savannah Toney and Ryan Belcher all scored one goal each for the Haze. Joey Vinson scored two goals and Walker Jeffery one for the Wild Billies.
The Mean Machine blanked the Orange Crush 9 to nil in a U9 match behind the six-goal performance from Aiden Baker. Mason Skidmore had two goals and Kagan Layne had one.
The Coal Diggers won 9-8 over the Grape Apes. Garrett Dean, Tyler Oney and Damon Moore all had three goals each for the winners. Brionna Crawford scored six goals to pace the Grape Apes. James Thompson and Jacob Deer had one each.
