The Logan High School girls’ basketball team ran its record to 2-0 on the season with Friday night’s 55-45 win at home over Lincoln County in the Lady Cats’ home opener.
All-State senior center Monica Mitchell pitched in 22 points and hauled down 12 rebounds in the win. She scored 14 of her points in the fourth quarter as Logan held on to get the victory.
Sophomore guard Jamyya Knox added nine points for Logan.
Lindsey Pritchard paced the Panthers (0-2) with 15 points. Taylor Adkins scored 11 points and Rachel Pennington netted 10.
Logan had opened the season on Wednesday with a 59-56 win at Chapmanville.
The Lady Cats are scheduled to return to the hardwood on Tuesday night at Ripley. Logan then plays George Washington on Friday in the Tolsia Shootout. Logan plays host Tolsia on Dec. 12.
The next home game is Dec. 17 against Huntington, a Class AAA sectional rival.
