MAN — The River View High School girls’ basketball team blasted the Man Lady Billies Tuesday night at the Man Memorial, 70-32.
It marked the second win over Man this season for RVHS. The Lady Raiders beat the Lady Billies 63-23 earlier in the season at Bradshaw in the sixth-annual Little General tourney.
Man dropped to 2-6 on the season with the loss.
River View jumped out to an early 18-4 lead after the first period of play and never looked back. The Lady Raiders then outscored Man 17-10 to take a commanding 35-14 advantage at the break.
River View continued to pull away from Man, outscoring the Lady Billies 21-7 in the third stanza and then outscored Man 14-11 in the final quarter of play to come away with the lopsided victory.
Man was led by Summer Combs with 16 points.
Sasha Moody and Brooke Burgess had four points each while Cortney Hinkle, Morgan Muncy and Maddie Meade had two points each. Sarah Blevins and Ally Meade tallied one point each. Man was just 10-for-20 from the free throw line.
River View placed three players in double digits, led by Katie Dobbs with 19 points. She was followed by Kristen Roberts and Lindsay Meade with 17 each. Page Cooper added eight, Rebecca Christain five, and Emily Golden and Brittany Rowe had two points each.
River View was 24-for-36 from the free throw line.
The Raiders improved to 6-1 on the season with the lone loss coming at the hands of Westside.
The Lady Billies are now off for the Christmas break and won’t hit the hardwood again until Jan. 8 when Man plays at Montcalm. Man then plays at Van on Jan. 11 and then at Teays Valley Christian on Jan. 14.
