SETH — The Man High School boys’ basketball team picked up a road win on Tuesday night as the Hillbillies prevailed 67-53 at Sherman.
Man (4-1) led 15-9 after one quarter, 33-26 at the half and 46-40 after three. The Billies then outscored the Tide 21-13 in the fourth to grab the win.
Senior guard John Thomas Keffer paced the Hillbillies with 19 points, eight assists, seven steals and five rebounds.
Jake Adkins had 16 points and nine boards in the win, while Erik Files also got into the scorebooks in double figures with 14 points and six rebounds.
Kenny Jo Adkins contributed eight points, seven steals and seven assists.
Cameron Simpson had six points and three steals for Man. Gabby Brown finished with four points and nine rebounds.
Sherman (3-4) was led by Caleb Duncan and Blake Nelson who dropped in 17 and 10 points respectively.
Will Hensley and Tyler Craig each netted eight points. Chris Layton had four and Jacob Maynor, Bailey Kirk and Luke Skeens had two points each for the Tide.
Man forced 26 Sherman turnovers in the game and turned those into 22 points. The Billies also had 22 steals.
The Billies are scheduled to host River View on Friday in a 7:30 p.m. tip off. Man then hosts Westside on Jan. 13 and goes to Chapmanville on Jan. 15. Man follows that up with a Jan. 16 contest against Betsy Layne (Ky.) in the Hatfield-McCoy Shootout at Williamson.
