Chapmanville Regional High School product Kristin DesRocher has having a fine sophomore season with the Glenville State College women’s basketball team.
Through 12 games, DesRocher, a 5-foot-8 guard, is averaging 8.3 points per game — tied for fifth-best on the team.
DesRocher has played in all 12 games and has five starts. She is shooting 30.6 percent from the field as she has made 33-of-108 shots. She has drained 29 3-pointers — good for second-best on the squad.
DesRocher is a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line and has 36 total rebounds, 11 assists, 18 steals and one blocked shot on the season.
The Glenville State women have a 9-3 record going into this week’s action.
The Pioneers have won five out of their last six games, including a 109-91 win on Wednesday night at home against Urbana.
Glenville State beat Concord (103-76), UVa-Wise (90-80), Bluefield State (96-44) and Apprentice School (95-68) and lost to Notre Dame College (92-80) during the span.
The Pioneers play at West Liberty on Sunday afternoon.
