MORGANTOWN — Class AAA No. 1-ranked Morgantown breezed past the Logan High School girls’ basketball team with Saturday’s 54-20 win over the Lady Cats at Morgantown.
Morgantown improved to 11-0 with the win. The Mohigans swept the season series with Logan, also winning 49-28 on Dec. 30 at Logan.
The Lady Cats fell to 3-8 and dropped their sixth straight game. Logan is just 1-8 since starting off the season with wins over Chapmanville and Lincoln County.
No further information was available on the game.
Logan is set to hit the road on Wednesday night at Spring Valley. The Lady Wolves, a Class AAA sectional rival, sports an 8-3 record after whipping Beckley Woodrow Wilson, 86-28, last Friday night at home. Spring Valley’s losses have been to Danville (Ky.), 59-42, Lincoln County (Ky.), 69-43, and to Huntington (64-60).
The Lady Cats then host Belfry (Ky.) on Jan. 19 and head to Capital on Jan. 20.
After taking on Capital, Logan is slated to play Fairland (Ohio) on Jan. 26 at the Big Sandy Arena in Huntington.
On Jan. 30, Logan hosts Buchannan-Upshur in Logan’s King Coal Classic Tournament.
