Ben Kazee made the most out of his first week in action with the Logan High School boys’ basketball team last week.
Kazee, a 6-foot-8 senior center and transfer from Chapmanville Regional High School, netted a game-high 21 points last Saturday as Logan ripped Point Pleasant 76-30 at Logan’s Willie Akers Arena. He has been named as the Logan Banner’s Athlete of the Week.
The game capped off a great weekend, not only for the Wildcats, but also for Kazee.
Kazee had recorded a double-double the night before on Friday as the Wildcats won 51-37 at home over Princeton.
Logan is now back above .500 on the season with a 5-4 mark after the rout over Point Pleasant.
Kazee made seven buckets in the game and was 7-for-12 from the free throw line.
The Cats were scheduled to play at Winfield on Tuesday night.
This weekend it’s off to Wheeling for the Logan basketball team as the Wildcats play at Wheeling Park on Friday night and at Brooke on Saturday at 4 p.m. before coming home.
The next home game is Jan. 21 against Johnson Central (Ky.).
