Keffer, Adkins lead Billies past ACA Eagles

WILLIAMSON — The Man High School basketball team improved to 11-3 on the season on Thursday night with an 85-70 road win at over Ambassador Christian Academy at the Williamson Fieldhouse.

Man got the season sweep as they defeated ACA last week at Man.

John Thomas Keffer led the way with 21 points and Kenny Jo Adkins added 20 for the Hillbillies. Jake Adkins finished with a double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds.

Man jumped out to an early 15-12 lead after the first period of play.

The Billies then would outscore Ambassador Christian 25-17 in the second stanza led by Keffer and both Adkins to take a 40-29 advantage into the locker room at the half.

Man pushed its lead to 61-44, outscoring ACA 21-14 in quarter number three to take the commanding 16-point lead heading into the final eight minutes of play.

Man coach Harvey Arms was able to play some of his reserves down the stretch as ACA outscored Man 27-24. But it was too little too late as Man came away with the hard fought 85-70 win on the road.

Gabby Brown had eight points and nine rebounds for Man while Cameron Simpson netted eight followed by Erik Files with seven and Josh Adkins with three.

The ACA Eagles were led by Corey Preece with 19 points and eight rebounds. Skylar Dingess and Raahkem Grey each pumped in 12, while Kesean Rhodes had 10, Kavon Trelevin eight, Chris Muncy six and Chris Bailey three.

The Eagles fell to 10-10 on the season.
