The Chapmanville Middle School girls’ basketball team traveled to the Huntington Prep Classic to play Wayne Middle School Wednesday and took one on the chin losing 34-20.
Cold shooting and too many turnovers did the Lady Tigers in.
Olivia Dalton and K.K. Davis led the way with six points each for CMS (11-2). Charlie Mullins had four, while Laruen Hines and Taylor Baisden chipped in with two points each.
The Tigers got back on the winning track Thursday night with a 36-12 win at Van.
Dalton sparked the win with 15 points. Hines pitched in seven, while Hollee Blair had six, Jayde Kuenzel had four and Davis and Baisden had two each.
“We played hard and got good looks at the basket, but right now nothing is going in the basket for us,” CMS coach Tommy Kirk said.
Next up for the Lady Tigers is a home game on Monday night with Man Middle School. The boys’ JV game starts at 5 p.m., followed by the girls’ and boys’ varsity games. It will also be Eighth Grade Night as CMS will honor all of its eighth-grade players and cheerleaders.
