GLENHAYES — The Tolsia Rebels snapped Chapmanville Regional High School’s four-game winning streak after routing the Tigers 80-60 on Thursday night at Tolsia.
Chapmanville dipped to fourth place in the Cardinal Conference, falling to 8-4 overall and 4-3 in the league. Third-place Tolsia improved to 9-4, 5-3 — one-half game ahead of CRHS. The Tigers then fell to 8-5 with Friday night’s 69-64 King Coal Classic loss to Huntington St. Joe at Logan.
Chapmanville led the Class AA sectional rival Rebels 20-19 early in the second quarter before Tolsia went on a 19-3 run to take a 38-23 lead at the half.
Tolsia then finished off the Tigers in the second half. Chapmanville only trimmed to deficit to 12 points but could not get any closer.
Sophomore guards Drew Williamson and Kyle Browning led CRHS with 20 and 17 points respectively.
The Tigers were scheduled to return to action with Friday night’s King Coal Classic game against Huntington St. Joe at Logan High School’s Willie Akers Arena.
