CHAUNCEY — Sydney Belcher has signed on to play collegiate volleyball at Alice Lloyd College in Kentucky.
Belcher, a senior at Beth Haven Christian School, signed a national letter of intent to play at Alice Lloyd on Tuesday at the BHCS gym.
Alice Lloyd, a small NAIA school located in Pippa Passes, Ky., was represented at the signing by head volleyball coach Kari Huber.
Belcher, a 5-foot-8 middle hitter/blocker, was named WVCEA All-State and All-Tournament for her junior and senior years. She led the Hornets in blocks, kills and digs.
“I enjoyed my visit and felt comfortable with the small campus feel and classes,” Belcher said. “I am excited to become a Lady Eagle and play my role on the team.”
Belcher is the daughter of Brent and Dedra Belcher. She played two years of her high school volleyball in Canada and her junior and senior years at Beth Haven.
She plans to major in kinesiology and to pursue a career in physical therapy.
