Westside has been a tough place to play at over the years.
The Renegades are always tough to beat on their home floor.
The Man High School boys’ basketball team had a rough night on Tuesday as the Class A No. 11-ranked Hillbillies lost 78-68 to Double-A Westside at the Westside High School gym in Clear Fork.
Westside earned a season series split with Man. The Billies had won 71-66 over the Renegades on Jan. 13 at home.
Man dropped its second straight game and fell to 13-6 on the season.
The Billies blew a double-digit lead in Tuesday’s game. Despite the early surge, Westside rallied back to take a 41-38 lead at halftime.
The Renegades then outscored Man 26-14 in the third quarter to take a 67-52 advantage.
John Thomas Keffer and Kenny Jo Adkins led the Hillbillies with 21 points each. Gabby Brown had 17. Jake Adkins netted four and Erik Files and Cameron Simpson tallied two each.
Man was scheduled to return to action with Wednesday night’s road game at River View. The Billies play at Belfry (Ky.) on Thursday. The regular season finale is set for Feb. 23 at home against county rival Chapmanville.
