CMS to play for Black Diamond title

CHAPMANVILLE — The Chapmanville Middle School boys’ basketball team advanced to Thursday night’s Black Diamond Conference championship game with Tuesday night’s 46-36 semifinal win at home over the Poca Dots at the CMS gym.

Chapmanville is scheduled to host Madison Middle School in the championship game.

Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at CMS.

Nathan White led the Tigers with an 18-point effort against the Dots. Philip Mullins tallied 15 and Isaac Dixon 10.

Madison moved on with a 68-63 semifinal victory over Duval Middle School on Tuesday night.

The RedHawks led 26-21 at the half.

John Hamilton and Caleb Dingess tossed in 21 points each to lead the RedHawks.

Both Chapmanville and Madison enter the championship game with identical 17-2 records. The teams split with each other during the regular season.
