Cheeriffic sweeps to titles in Louisville

The Cheeriffic All-Star cheerleaders of Logan swept to victory last weekend in Louisville, Ky., as all three teams took first place.

The Cheeriffic Tiny 1 team was first out of six teams, while the Cheeriffic Youth 2 team took first in its 12-team field. The Junior 3 team was first out of 10 teams and received a paid Gold Bid for the upcoming US Finals.

The Tiny and Youth squads were also named Grand Champions in their divisions.

It’s been another fantastic season for Cheeriffic, which has made itself known in recent years with six overall national championships the last four years.

“We couldn’t be more ecstatic about our gym’s 3-peat — back to back to back jackets along with three clean sweeps in a row couldn’t be any better,” said Heather Bryant, one of Cheeriffic’s coaches. “The Tinys, aka the Golden Nuggets, have won 4 for 4 huge competitions, also claiming Grand Champs at all four events. This is unheard of out of a Tinys team. But here are our 4-6 year old cheerleaders outscoring mini, youth, junior, and senior teams. They have also won three jackets, headphones, MP3 players and a Gold Paid Bid to the US Finals.”

Bryant said the Youth 2 team has also been outstanding.

“Youth 2 kicked off their season winning a bid to the Division 2 Summit which is an invitation only competition,” she said. “We couldn’t be more proud of this team achieving this goal. Our amazing Youth 2 team has been on fire since Day One also claiming three jackets, four first places, four grand championships, a Division 2 Summit bid, and a paid bid to the US Finals. This team is focused on rings, rings and rings.”

Britney Hartman, Cheeriffic’s other coach, said the Junior 3 squad has also been terrific this season.

“Our J3 team, better known as our Lucky 13s, has had an amazing ride this year,” Hartman said. “Every single event they have been determined to capture that first place trophy. We have seen these ladies grow and come together as a family. They have been crowned first at three prestigious, jacket-winning competitions. And in Louisville, to top it off, they were awarded the Gold Paid Bid to the US Finals. In achieving this, that made us 3 for 3 attending US Finals with Gold Bids. The Lucky 13s were blessed to not only have their good luck Shamu cookies, but also had Shamu (Linda Akers) in Louisville cheering them on. It made the victory even sweeter to have her there.”

Bryant said she hopes there are more success stories to come.

Cheeriffic is scheduled to compete in the US Finals in April in Indianapolis. Then it’s off to the Division II Summit, the defacto national championships, set for April 30 to May 1 in Tampa, Fla.

Cheeriffic’s Junior Level team took part in the Summit last year in Florida, competing against some of the nation’s very best all-star cheerleading organizations.

“Looking back at how this season has went so far, we can’t even believe how blessed our gym has been — three jackets, three Gold Paid Bids, one D2 Summit Bid, eight Grand Championships, numerous specialty awards, and many unforgettable memories,” Bryant said. “We are in awe of the blessings that have been poured upon us and our teams. God blessed our prayer warrior, Teresa Bryant, with the perfect motivational message to deliver to our girls during our devotional on Sunday morning. We read in His word that if you raise a child up in the way he should go, when he is old he will not depart from it. We instill in our girls that ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.’”
